Care Groups
At Grace Community Church, care groups are "where church-life really happens". We are committed to growing strong relationships as we pursue the joy of maturing in godliness, pursuing Biblical fellowship, and using the spiritual gifts God has given us. We want everyone to be in ever-deepening relationships, learning to "do Life" God's way and enjoying the process together in community! We're learning to care for each other and challenge one another to grow in the Christian life. If God has placed you in Grace Community Church, we warmly and enthusiastically ask you to be a part of a care group. The adventure starts...Come join the fun!
Care groups are a big part of the good things happening in people's lives here at Grace Community Church. Why? Because we believe that the best place for you to grow spiritually and receive care from the church body is within the context of a smaller group of people. Our pastors take seriously the call to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12). Our care group leaders undergo a time of apprenticeship and receive ongoing care and training from the pastors. These leaders in turn facilitate biblical fellowship, encourage sanctification, promote mutual care and invite the joy of the gifts of the Holy Spirit amongst the members of their care group. This is the model followed by the early church (Acts 2:42- 47) and our hope is that it will result in the same fruit here at Grace Community Church.
Getting Plugged In!
At Grace Community, we do our best to make everyone feel cared for and welcome! And for those called to be members, we seek to care for them by plugging them into care groups. Within these groups of 8 - 22 people, you will find others who share similar interest and life circumstances. You will be given opportunities to use your gifts and talents and will be able to share how God is working in your life. When trials and struggles arise (and they always do!), your care group will be there to support and care for you. You're probably beginning to see why care groups are so important to this church body. We want every member at Grace Community to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, and Scripture clearly shows that believers can help spur one another on to a greater love for the Lord. Even better, Jesus said others would know that we are His disciples because we love one another (John 13:35).
Becoming Part of a Care Group
Care Groups are for our members. So, if the Lord would lead someone to be a member here at Grace Community Church, we would ask him/her to be a part of a care group. Then practically, folks work with Pastor Steve to choose the best care group for them.
