Our Pastors

Don Sharpe
Don has has served as a pastor at Grace since 1992. Don has a B.A. in psychology from Johns Hopkins University and an M.B. A. from Loyola College. He currently oversees most of the administrative and executive functions of the church and works with counseling. Don lives in Bel Air, Maryland with his wife, Margaret. They have two daughters. His passion in ministry is to see people live in the fullness and freedom that Jesus accomplished for his people. Don enjoys following and rooting for our local sports teams and traveling with his family to any place where he can snorkel.
Erik Mersch
Erik began serving as a pastor at Grace in 2019. Erik has a Bachelor of Science from James Madison University. After graduation he served with Cru in the Baltimore area for 8 years before joining the pastoral team at Grace. He currently oversees the young adults ministry and many of the technichal operations of the church. Erik lives in Nottingham, Maryland with his wife, Kylie, and four children. Erik is passionate about seeing Jesus' lordship reign in peoples lives and many sports. He has many seemingly differing sports allegiances due to his moving around as a kid and loves to spend his off time making memories with his family or on the disc golf course.
George Scheeler
George was reinstalled as a pastor at Grace Community Church in 2019. He has a Bachelors from James Madison University and a MBA from William & Mary. George’s primary responsibilities include Community Groups and Leadership Development. George also holds a position on the Financial Board. George is employed outside the church in the area of finance. After losing his beloved wife Martha, George lives in Towson. They have four children and eight grandchildren.
Greg Gill
Greg began serving as a pastor at Grace Community Church in 1988. He is part of the teaching team for Sundays and oversees missions and some of our small groups. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University. After losing his beloved wife Wendy, Greg now lives in Kingsville, Maryland. He has seven children and several grandchildren.
Rick Myers
In 2019, Rick assumed the role of pastor at Grace. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University and has obtained his Certificate of Biblical Counseling from CCEF. Currently, Rick is responsible for overseeing several ministries including our youth ministry, Cross Current, our Men's and Women’s Ministries, and our Welcome Team. Prior to this, he served on the leadership team of our Alpha program. Rick resides in White Marsh with his wife, Jeanine, and they are blessed with five children.
Our Staff
Andrew Morrow, staff
Moving from Northern Ireland, Andrew began serving at Grace in 2024. He was born as a missionary kid in the land of Peru-South America, just like Paddington bear. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Preparation for Ministry. He moved to Baltimore with his wife Jázmin, who also grew up as a missionary kid in Romania and is a qualified elementary teacher. Currently, Andrew is responsible for working alongside the pastoral team in numerous areas including worship, some teaching, and global missions. Andrew is passionate about ministry, but as a close second comes his snobbery for coffee and love of/for the sea!
Becky Fox, Office Manager
Becky started working at Grace in 1998. Through the years, she has helped write curriculum for our Sunday School, led our middle school ministry, recruited volunteers for our Sunday ministries, and supported each pastor in the various ministries they oversee. Becky's job now includes overseeing the day to day operations of the church office and providing leadership and direction to the administrative staff. Becky's passion is teaching - she currently helps lead in our ESL program.
Kylie Mersch, Grace Kids Director
Kylie began serving as the GraceKids director in 2019. Kylie has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University. After graduating, Kylie joined staff with Cru and worked training and discipling college students for 8 years. She has always had a passion for children and is excited to serve the church in this role. She and her husband, Erik, have four adorable children, Alaina, Joshua, Madison, and Anna.
Laura Distefano, Events Coordinator
Laura has been a member of Grace for since 2001. She is the receptionist at our church office. She would be the first person to greet you there. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Services from Lycoming College, Pennsylvania. She lives in Overlea with her husband and 5 children.
Marilyn Templeton, Bookkeeper
Since 2017, Marilyn has served at Grace Community as Bookkeeper. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Towson University, and has extensive knowledge in finance and operations from her previous work experience with AON, a Microsoft Consulting Partner, and teaching at Harford Community College. She and her husband live in Bel Air, and have two grown children.
Our Deacons
